Who we are

We are a self-organized group and student initiative of students and non-students and organize the Critical Introduction Days (KreTa) in Chemnitz.

Our aim is to offer people in Chemnitz an introduction to socio-critical topics at the start of their studies and beyond. Our events offer a platform for exchange and discussion, networking and strengthening existing structures. We want to promote the politicization of the campus and the city and encourage people to get actively involved in various initiatives.

We regard ourselves as anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian and intersectional queer-feminist and would like to offer a diverse program to introduce and deepen various topics. The events will include formats like workshops, talks, city tours and more.

The events are free of charge or on a donation basis and are meant to be as accessible as possible for everyone. We reject all forms of discrimination and try to create low barrier and discrimination-sensitive spaces. Excluded from the events are people who belong to neo-Nazi parties or organizations, who belong to the right-wing scene or who have already made racist, nationalist, anti-Semitic or other inhumane statements in the past. In order to meet these requirements, we remain open to suggestions and criticism.
